Jeff Kendall
Jeff Kendall, born in 1967 in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a legendary skateboarding veteran who rose to prominance in the late 1980s as a pro skater for Santa Cruz Skateboards and Independent Truck Co. Known for his smooth, powerful vert skating and pioneering street skating, he helped shape skateboarding during its '80s boom after moving to California. His skateboarding journey began at age 11, fueled by a rare televised slalom race and a sparse Midwest scene of backyard ramps, parking garages and curbs.
Retiring from pro skating in 1992, Kendall joined NHS, Inc., the parent company of Santa Cruz Skateboards, and climbed the ranks over 27 years to become President and Chief Marketing Officer in 2019. Based in Santa Cruz, California, he now drives the company's global outreach, supporting skateboarding's growth and inclusivity while raising a family, turning his lifelong passion into a lasting legacy for skating culture and history.
