Chocolate Skateboards was founded in 1994 by Rick Howard, Spike Jonze, Mike Carroll and Megan Baltimore and they built it on an interesting idea, instead of adding more riders to Girl Skateboards, why not create a new team and a new company? The 1994 original riders included Chico Brenes, Daniel Castillo, Paulo Diaz, Richard Mudder, Shamile Randle, Gabriel Rodriguez and Ben Sanchez. While Chocolate Skateboards and Girl Skateboards are separate companies, they appear together in videos such as Yeah, Right!, share boards and go on tours together. Chocolate Skateboards is distributed by Girl Distribution along with Girl Skateboards, Royal Skateboard Trucks, and Fourstar Clothing. Girl Skateboards Distribution began in August of 1993, only shortly before Chocolate Skateboards.
